The Complexities of Marketing to a European Audience : A Single Market with 28 Different Sets of Rules
10:30  to  11:30

The GDPR gives the impression that where data protection is concerned, the EU is a single, homogenous mass. But even this comprehensive piece of legislation has plenty of places where individual countries can change the rules slightly. If you add on top, the Directives and Regulations which relate to electronic marketing, which are once again interpreted differently across the bloc, then you are into a whole world of complexity that you probably didn’t imagine.

What are the key issues you need to address? Have you thought about EU representatives? The issue of presenting privacy notices in local languages? Transparency in your data collection mechanisms, etc.?

This workshop will help you identify the key challenges, and the steps you need to take to make sure your marketing efforts do not fall foul of EU legislation.

Hellen Beveridge. Data Protection Lead. Data Oversight.
